About PSGIM:

About Srujana:

PSGIM is very exultant in hosting Srujana 2012 – an intercollegiate cultural event conducted exclusively for the very enthusiastic and zestful undergraduate students from all over South India. We are also going to have visitors from the Association of BRICS Business Schools, making it international.

Srujana – meaning "Creativity" in Sanskrit and themed "Colours of Life", is an event that is first of its kind to be held specially to bring out the vibrant talents of the young college goers. This cultural meet is sure to invigorate the participants not only in the very wonted style of 'Culturals', but in a very riveting way.

General Rules and Regulations

• No participation fee.
• Mails regarding the number of participants should reach us by Feb 1, 2012 as accommodation needs to be arranged accordingly for the outstation participants.
• Spot registration available for all events except Dance, Light Music, and Adzap.
• The participants have to produce their college ID upon arrival.
• Any improper / unruly behavior or violation of college rules will result in disqualification of the team / cancellation of prizes.
• CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL AND SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED INSIDE THE INSTITUTE. ANY PARTICIPANT ATTENDING THE EVENTS AFTER CONSUMING ALCOHOL WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY.
• Program committee reserves the right to change the programs with prior notice.
• The decision of the Jury Panel and the Core Committee will be final and binding. No appeals will be entertained.

Individual event

No. of rounds: 7

1st Round: Quiz

3 styles:

• Personality quiz (5 famous personalities)
• Picture Connect (5)
• Miscellaneous (40)

Breather 1:

Fun riddles and Optical illusion pictures.
Bonus points of 4.

2nd Round: Rapid Fire Round

(10 questions each).
Duration: 60 seconds.

3rd Round: Treasure Hunt

• Riddle based clues at start.
• Thereafter proceed to next clue as per instructions in previous clues.
• If unable to solve a clue then hint can be taken at the cost of 1 point from the candidate's total.
• Maximum of 4 hints per clue.
• Duration for each stage will also be considered in scoring of points.

4th Round: Adzeee

• Using answers of the clues from treasure hunt round, theme for each selected participant will be given.
• Based on the given theme, an Ad has to be made.
• For requirement of various items to make the Ad the participant has to trade his points.
• Performance will be measured under various sections, which will be mentioned at the start of the round.

Breather 2:

General Knowledge and 'presence of mind' questions.
Bonus points of 4.

5th Round: Guess the Ad

• Each selected participant will be shown a series of 5 Ads
• Maximum 6 guesses in all.
• Time limit for an individual: 2mins.

Tie Breaker (If needed): Solve the given problem

6th Round: Tap the Flash

• Numbers shown should be tapped.
• Maximum number of taps in a minute should be the focus.
• Second chance at the game will be given at the loss of 5 points and time limit of 30 seconds.

Tie Breaker (If needed): Do the Dare!

7th Round: Controversy?? Mystery??

• Situation handling test.
• Logic and clarity of speech.
• Characterization of the given role is important.

JAM (Just A Minute)

Hey folks, this is not the usual stuff! We promise this will be different!

Step-Up (Dance)

No. of participants: 5 to 7

Duration: 3 minutes to set up props and 5 minutes to perform.

Participants can decide their own theme and should intimate the same to the event organizer vide mail. Any kind of vulgarity, political view and violence should not be imitated. Properties should be brought by the teams at their own risk. Language is not a constraint for selection of song.

Rhymes in lines (Poetry)

• Individual participation.
• Topic will be given on the spot.
• Poems should be composed only in English.
• No. of lines: 12 to 16 lines.

221 B Baker Street (Solve the Mystery)

No. of participants: 3 per team

• Identify the person who has committed the crime from the shown movie.
• 20 minutes of discussion time will be allotted.
• Teams will have to justify on what basis they suspected the person.
• Marks will be allotted on the justifications given.
• If there is a tie, then the best team will be selected on the basis of the points on why they suspected that particular person.

• 60 minutes will be given to complete the creation.
• The creation will be judged based on the utility of the creation. Only things with utility value to be created.

Flower-A-Scent (Dry Flower Arrangement)

Earth laughs through flowers!

• Individual event.
• Only dry flowers to be used for the arrangement.
• Bring your own materials.
• 45 minutes time will be given to complete the arrangement.
• The arrangement will be judged based on creativity, and innovation in using the materials.

Impulse (Quiz)

Inception of thoughts

• A team should consist of two participants.
• Prelims will be conducted as the first round.
• Written quiz
• Questions will be from all fields.
• here will be a total of 25 questions.
• Weightage for questions depending on their difficulty level.
• Four teams will be selected from the Prelims.
• The second round will be a questions round. Five questions for each team. No negative score.
• The third round will be an audio visual round. Four questions for each team. No negative score.
• The fourth round will be Choose your pick. There will be 8 baskets to choose from, in which each basket contains seven questions. Negative score for incorrect answers.
• The fifth round will be Uncover the hidden. Maximum of 3 hints will be given. No negative score.
• The sixth round will be Rapid fire. 10 questions in 1 min. Negative score for incorrect answers.

Center Stage (Light Music)

No. of participants: 5 to 7

Duration: 7 minutes to perform excluding set up time for instruments.

• Participants should bring their own instruments.
• Songs can be from any Indian language.
• Participants cannot sing along with pre-recorded vocal CDs / Tapes, Karaoke, etc.
• In the event of a tie, there will be a tie breaker subject to the judges' opinion.

Shutterbug (Photography)

• Participants must bring their own cameras. Upon arrival, participants must inform the co-ordinator about the type / make of camera being used.
• Shooting photos from mobile phone camera is strictly prohibited.
• Participants must take photographs of the events that are going on in the PSGIM Campus as part of Srujana.
• Participants can submit minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 photographs
• Soft copy of photographs must be submitted.
• Photographs will be judged for their creativity

Spin-A-Yarn

No. of participants: 2 per team

• On the spot topic.
• Participants will be given 1 minute of preparation time after which they have to create a story from the given topic.
• Evaluation will be based on creativity, content and overall presentation in conjunction with the time taken.

Face off (Face Painting)

No. of participants: 2 members in a team (One painter & other "The Face")

Duration: 1 hour

• Theme will be given 15 minutes prior to the start of the competition.
• Only poster colours should be used.
• Participants should bring sufficient colours, brushes and cloths to wipe.
• Judgment will be based on creativity and usage of colours.

Chef Central (Cooking without fire)

Individual Event

Duration: 45 minutes.

Vegetables and other items required for cooking must be bought by the participant.
Judgment will be based on cleanliness, presentation, creativity and taste.

Finders keepers (Treasure Hunt)

Ad-Age (Adzap)

Adzap is set to bring out your creativity, time management and marketing skills.

No. of participants: Maximum of 7 members per team.
(Participants will be given slots on first come first serve basis).

No. of rounds: 3 rounds

Duration: 5 minutes.

Topics will be given on the spot and each team will be given 10 minutes to prepare. More weightage will be given to humour, creativity and marketing skills.
