Machine Vision Laboratory
The Machine Vision Laboratory (MVL) was established in 1999 and has focused on the use of innovative 3D modeling methods for security, medicine and industry. In particular, the group has adapted photometric stereo methods of machine vision for pioneering research in these areas. Another distinctive feature of the laboratory is its significant emphasis on both hardware design and algorithm development. The MVL has developed a network of close collaborative academic and industrial partnerships throughout the UK, Europe, India and the USA.
